Halo Campaign Evolved Two Betrayals Banshee Progression Blocker

Quick answer
After the first generator in Two Betrayals, do not destroy the banshee. Halo Studios' release known-issues list says destroying it can leave players unable to progress.
Preserve the vehicle until the progression step is complete. This page does not provide a full Two Betrayals walkthrough or claim the exact route, checkpoint logic, or recovery behavior after the banshee has already been destroyed.
Prevention checklist
- reach the section after the first generator;
- identify the banshee available for continued progression;
- avoid firing on it or causing environmental damage to it;
- warn co-op partners not to destroy it;
- use it for the intended continuation when the objective requires it;
- do not abandon it merely because combat continues nearby.
Why this is separate from ordinary vehicle choice
The official notice describes a progression blocker, not an optional combat preference. A banshee that would normally look disposable may be required for the current sequence.
The notice does not state:
- whether another banshee can substitute for it;
- whether restarting a checkpoint always restores it;
- whether the issue affects every difficulty;
- whether solo and co-op saves recover identically;
- whether a later patch has removed the risk.
Check the latest official update before assuming the issue remains unchanged.
If the banshee has already been destroyed
The official release notice provides prevention but does not publish a guaranteed recovery method. Use the least destructive steps first:
- stop before creating more progress or checkpoints;
- try the current checkpoint restart;
- verify whether the banshee returns;
- if it does not, record the mission, rally point, player count, and sequence;
- submit the case to Halo Support before deleting broader campaign progress.
Do not use save editing or downloaded replacement saves as an official workaround.
Co-op note
Tell every Fireteam member that the banshee is progression-sensitive. This blocker is different from the separate co-op condition where navigation markers wait until every Fireteam member crosses them.
See Fireteam navigation marker stuck fix for that issue.
Query ownership
This article owns the narrow search task “Two Betrayals banshee destroyed / cannot progress.” The broad mission list remains at Halo Campaign Evolved missions, and a future full walkthrough should link here rather than duplicate the blocker instructions.
